I'm lucky enough to be in almost every classroom every day, even if just to peek in for a minute. When other visitors come they love to see what the kids are up to as well. Dr. Rocco was at Greenock today and I was showing him some of the things the teachers were doing with the kids. In kindergarten they were learning all about Constitution Day. Mrs. Tiberio's class was busy working on creating some really cute hats when we stopped in. I thought it would be nice for them to tell Dr. Rocco what they were doing so I asked "Boys and girls what day is it today?"
A group of 4 or 5 of the kids answered first without missing a beat, "It's hump dayyy!"
Another student corrected them, "No it's OVER the hump day!" With a little prompt they remembered they did remember it was Constitution Day. Oh the power of commercials.
